The Healthy You Already Exists

Your healthiest self already exists. If that triggers you, if that makes you think “oh but I have this…” or “she doesn’t know what she’s talking about, I’ve tried everything” then you, my friend, are reading this for a reason. Your healthiest self already exists, and it called you to this blog post. You have been looking too closely. It is time to look at this new perspective. There is an old story I would like to reference and is the starting point to what exactly I am about to talk about. 

“An old Cherokee grandfather is telling his grandson a story. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said.” It is a terrible fight between two wolves. One is evil — he is anger, envy, greed, arrogance, resentment, lies, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good — he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The wolves are fighting to the death.”Wide-eyed, the boy asks his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

We have this “fix it” mentality when it comes to our bodies and our health as a whole. More often than not, what we believe to be our main problem, isn’t our core problem. The problem is the health consciousness. The healthy you and the unhealthy you BOTH spiritually and scientifically exist. The consciousness is what you are aware of or in other words, what you are awake or open to. Are you welcoming fear, resentment, worry, or are you welcoming healing, forgiveness, and acceptance? You may be denying yourself healing by not shifting your health consciousness, because what we resist, WILL persist. 

Health is not a destination, a diagnosis, or a label. It is the energy that you project to yourself and to others. When a friend or loved one is diagnosed with Celiac Disease or cancer, or some other condition, what do you say to them? “I’m so sorry.” “Wow you are unhealthy?” Or do you provide support, encouragement, hope, or love? Do you say, “lean on me, I got you” and advocate for THEIR health? It is time to start advocating for your own! When I found out I had Celiac Disease, I had a sense that I could overcome it. I held onto that even when things got VERY hard. In my times of weakness and my body being in its unhealthiest state, I knew come hell or high water, this wasn’t my forever. The disease is forever, but this unhealthy state of living is temporary. My grandfather had Parkinson’s disease, and never once did I see my grandfather as “sick.” He had Parkinson’s. Period. He was nothing else to me other than my grandfather because he never complained, he never claimed himself to be sick or unwell. Up until his final days, he stayed true to his faith and his mindset. He never allowed the disease to take him.

Now you are asking, how do I do this? How do we wake up this healthy you I am speaking to? 

Here it is.

  1. What you believe, will exist for you. Condition doesn’t have to determine the beliefs, but your beliefs in the conditions create the experience. Like the wolf, if you believe that you are strong, you are well, you are NOT broken, you are not the trauma from your past or your grief. You are not this anxiety your feeling, you’re not tied to these limiting beliefs. Do not create the belief that you will never be well. Instead, believe that you are worth saving.
  2. Give yourself permission to heal by manifesting a mindset around it. Health is a birth right. Wealth is a birth right. Happiness is a birth right. No matter what and you have to start by advocating for it first. Health doesn’t mean you are cured. Disease doesn’t DEFINE you! You are not the pain you feel. The healthy you is waiting. It is the freedom to wake up and not revolve your day around limitations. You aren’t meant to have stomach pain forever. You aren’t meant to struggle with low back pain forever. You weren’t meant to stress about money, wellness, food, or relationships for the rest of your life. That acknowledgement alone is the healthy you inside ready to be set free.  If you hold onto (fill in the blank) you will never be healthy. Give yourself permission to start this journey.
  3. It is time to look inside and do the inner work. Therapy, second opinions, self-care work, advisement with finances, or a health coach. Where do you need to start? It is time to make the investment for that healthier you that already exists right now. Invite more people into your space that are advocating for you like you would for a sick loved one. 

Creating a healing space doesn’t happen overnight. A shift in mindset can often times take years to manifest, but you are worth it. You are a masterpiece because you are a piece of the master! The wolf who wins is the one you feed. Surround yourself with compassion and appreciation for where you started. Focus your eyes on what is unfinished inside of you and take the steps above to do what is necessary for your health and well-being. Feed your body with nourishing food, positive affirmations, and other habits that serve you.
